I am pleased to announce that my original piece entitled "Friesian Study" was chosen by author Jessica James to portray the main character's horse Justus in her novel Shades of Gray.

Being a native Virginian I can absolutely attest not only to the splendor of the landscape, but as to the integrity and loyalty of her devoted tenants as the author relates so well in this story.

There is never a dull moment from the first page to the last. You will be engrossed between the ensemble of characters, the witty and poignant dialogue, the loves, the losses, and the struggles that those on either side faced and overcame in the Civil War.

Jessica James has created a story that is seldom seen in today's times by relying on her earnest and intelligent story telling. You will not be disappointed by this book.
